ICFA RUI shows
ICFA RUI international cat shows, held all over Ukraine during a show season, are combined in the Open Championship.
Breeders from various far and neighboring foreign countries present their cats at RUI Cat Shows. Along with RUI's judges there are leading judges representing various felinological systems at the Championship's shows. Such approach to organization of the Championship gives our breeders an excellent informational and methodological material to work with and the possibility to achieve high results in breeding.
A Cat Show is the evaluation of pedigree cats' qualities, a fascinating competition and a lively show that brings aesthetic pleasure to spectators.
A Cat Show consists of a definite number of independent, simultaneously functioning rings in the show hall. There is a judge evaluating cats in each ring and presenting his own scores, awards and finals irrespective of other judges' decisions. Thus, the Best Cat in the first ring will not necessarily be the best one with the other judge in the second ring.
Every cat, participating in a show, is estimated by a judge in accordance with Standards for its breed (judge for the Household Pet Class that doesn't have written standards). The standard is an ideal to which one has to strive in breeding, and the degree of approaching to the Standard is estimated by the judge in the ring.

Rings can be classified as Allbreed or Specialty. All cats irrespective of the type and length of their hair participate in Allbreed rings. Cats in Specialty rings are combined according to their type (oriental cats ring, sphynx ring) or the length of their hair (LH ring, SH ring). Having evaluated all cats in the ring, every judge holds his/her final contest where he/she presents 10 best kitten and 10 best adult cats from his/her ring. Probably the moment, when the Best Cat or the Best Kitten are announced, is the most exiting and solemn at the Cat Show.
A judge in the ring is helped by Ring Clerks, whose duties include inviting cats for judgment and making records of trophies awarded by the judge in a working catalogue, and also by Ring Stewards who are responsible for order in the ring.
Owing to open rings, spectators have a possibility to watch judges doing their work, the course of events at the competition what makes the process of judging evident and the show - lively, spectacular and long-remembered.
Reports on the results of every Cat Show are published at the RUI's web-site and in printed periodical felinological editions. Based on the results of the regular show rating list of the best kittens and adult cats of the Cat Show is scored and placed at the Web-site.
Following the end of every show the current rating of the Championship is updated at the Web-site. Final rating of the Show Season (Top 100 Cats & Top 100 Kittens) is saved at the site and published in RUI Yearbooks (available at the Library).
At the start of every Show Season the awarding ceremony of the previous Show Season Championship winners is held.
